A big hassle – 1

If you think moving from one place to another is something good to do, definitely you have not experienced it before.

After I made payment to whatever I needed to pay for key collection, I headed to the house to check whether the keys and lockset are all working normally. Then I switched on all the air-cons, and left it for more than 6 hours before I went back to check for any leakage of the concealled pipes.

The next day, I checked on defects briefly, and took note of them. Also, I looked at every angle of the house, and came out with some ideas on the design. For me, Bayan Villa is all about interior design, we hardly do anything to its exterior which I think it is something good, we do not need to get headache with what to have at the car porch, or what plants to have outside the house, what colour to paint for the external walls and fences. In a way, we can save more.

After that, I went to the house again with my wife. Both of us did a detail check on defects, and completed the defects complaint form before submitted to the management office. Since then, I went to the house almost everyday to check whether or not they rectify the defects. If they had, I thanked them. If they had not, I asked for the reasons, and asked who responsible for it, and got them to get the work done as soon as possible.

While waiting for defects to be rectified, I went around to ask for renovation quotation. For renovation, there are many ways of doing it. You can deal with main contractor to do everything for you, or you want to deal with many small contractors as each of them will do one single part. In renovation, there are a few major parts where you need different people to do it, we have electrical, piping, plaster ceiling, concreate work – what hacking and drilling are, tiling, furniture which include wardrobe and any cabinet, and last but not least painting. There are some minor parts which are grilles, mirrors, tempered glass, and doors.

More to come…

Dream house (home)

Homogeneity applies to exterior look of the building only. When comes to interior, every individual can fully utilise their own creativity to come out with their own interior design which they love the most.

Some people will leave the design job to interior design firms or studios, some people like me, has their own idea and design, will tell the renovation contractor what to do and the contractor will execute your plan accordingly.

When we come to taste, there is nothing what we called nice or not nice because every individual comes from a different background, we interprete beautiful differently. Because what we do in our own unit does not affect the exterior look of the building or other people, we can really can go for whatever we want.

Now, we have got our long waited house, it is time for us to apply our own dream in it. I dream, you dream, everybody dreams… It is time to make our dream comes true. We have had so many ideas while waiting for the keys, we couldn’t wait any longer to slot in our dream into the house, to make it a dream house for ourselves.

I have got my dream house, have you?

Homogeneity

Homogeneity makes the entire environment looks great and grand, and uniform. Unlike the conventional housing area, we can see almost every individual house has its very own styling, colour, dimension, as well as ugliness. Pardon my frankness, most houses there look ugly due to poorly maintained. Some owners repaint their house yearly, but some don’t bother to repaint theirs at all. Also, the renovation design is either from the owners themselves, who have poor sense of beauty or no design experience, or from the renovation contractor who have experience in renovation work but not design.

I know, there are also owners and contractors who can design a good piece of work, or they get qualified designers to pen their house. Unfortunately, if one or two beautiful houses were built but surrounded by many ugly houses disorganisedly, it won’t make them standout like grand castles. It only give people such an impression only,”Houses there are not nice lahhh…”.

That’s why we need something homogeneous, and most importantly the design of Bayan Villa is from some qualified architects and designs who received awards. I remember Bukit Ikhlas Development previous sales office was awarded some kind of ‘Best Office Design’ many years ago. Most importantly, you see it, you love it, that’s why you buy it.
